Our Mission

Tri-County Concerts Association is a nonprofit classical music organization based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, whose mission is to foster the performance and appreciation of the highest quality solo and ensemble chamber music in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. It is one of the oldest chamber music series in Greater Philadelphia region and the only one run by an independent community board.

For over eighty years, Tri-County Concerts has presented on average four to five chamber music concerts each season. In recent decades, our chamber music series has focused primarily on presenting emerging artists. We make these fine musicians widely accessible to local community audiences, while providing them professional exposure and support at a critical time in their careers. Our audiences learn about the music directly from the artists and receive further background information from us.

Tri-County Concerts also organizes an annual Youth Music Festival to identify and reward young talent, and encourage them to develop into adult performers and audiences. Students in grades 6-12 who reside in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties are given an opportunity to audition before and receive critiques from professional musicians in a wide variety of instruments. The winners perform before a discriminating audience at the annual winners' recital.

Tri-County Concerts Association is dedicated to

  • continuing adult community awareness of and exposure to the beauty of chamber music
  • expanding young people’s knowledge and appreciation of chamber music, promoting their musical studies and concert attendance, and providing the most talented students a public performance opportunity
